Tax Appeals

Gaddis & Lanier, LLC, has successfully represented residential and commercial clients in appealing ad valorem property taxes throughout the State of Georgia. We help property owners by:

We appeal property values for community associations on common area property (which should receive nominal tax treatment), as well as individual property owners in subdivisions and condominium communities. We also represent owners of commercial properties including office buildings, hotels, retail centers, apartments, mixed-use developments and developer and lender owned condominium and master planned developments.

As home values continue to decrease because of the current economy, the value assessed by the county tax assessors' office may exceed the current fair market value of the property. As a property owner and taxpayer you may be paying a higher tax bill than necessary. If the current fair market value of your home is now less than the current assessed value, you can reduce your property tax bill by requesting a reduction in your property tax assessment. There is a simple process you must follow to request a lower assessed value for your property in 2010 and to preserve your right to appeal your tax bill.
