Kyle focuses his practice on zoning, land use and general real estate matters, representing individual property owners, neighborhoods, homeowner and condominium associations, real estate builders, real estate agents and brokers, real estate appraisers and other real estate professionals. Kyle has represented clients in numerous jury, bench, and arbitration trials throughout Georgia. He also represents clients before state agencies and local governments on permitting, code enforcement, zoning and ad valorem property tax appeals. Kyle also counsels clients on contract negotiation, formation and termination.
Kyle created and edits Georgia Zoning Blog, writing about Georgia land use and zoning decisions, law, and politics. In 2005, 2006, and 2009 Kyle was recognized as a Georgia “Rising Star” in Litigation, Land Use and Zoning by Georgia “Super Lawyer” and Atlanta Magazine.
Kyle frequently writes and teaches about land use, zoning and real estate matters at seminars and continuing education classes. He recently served as the zoning legal expert on the Urban Land Institute Atlanta Technical Assistance Panel for the City of Stone Mountain discussing the redevelopment of the failing Stone Mountain West Condominium.
Kyle is a Tennessee native and graduated with honors from The University of Tennessee, Martin with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Tennessee, College of Law concentrating on advocacy and dispute resolution. Kyle is a past member of the Dean’s Circle for The University of Tennessee, College of Law and currently serves as Chair of the Alumni Council. Kyle serves on the Decatur Zoning Board of Appeals and served on the Transition Committee for DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Burrell Ellis. Kyle has been recognized as a Foundation Friend by the Decatur Education Foundation.
